Devilish is fun for $9.99 new, (current retail price) buy it!! Very playable, pick up and play!!
No stylus use makes it basically a GBA game w/ 2 screens. Thankfully it is not new school "enhanced" for DS. (whew) But its cool as it acts as just one big vertical screen. Makes sense, NDS should have more vertical shooter games to take advantage of a tall game screen. A little something added to the Sega Devilish's is powerups that drop (like Arkanoid). Bosses are fun. Story cutscenes don't really make sense to me (uh, there's a story to this??) but it almost adds a bit of charm to it like hilarious cheeseball writing in early Genesis and early NES games. The game seems to have bad reviews because there's no stylus use (actually thats a GOOD thing peeples). The game however is VERY short and also seems like something you'd more expect to see on like Game Gear or TG16 (for me, that's also a good thing). But really, I like that kind of crustiness. I can see why maybe some people may not like it w/ the combination of cheeseball and crusty, but to me I really like it for that reason. I'd say its definately a hardcore specific game so it just shouts SPECIALTY GAMER to me. I'm not saying its one of the best games for the DS, but excellent for what it is - a classic port budget title. Very worth the price of $9.99 new in my opinion. I liked the game. At 10 bucks you cant go wrong, not to mention probably going to be uncommon someday. Think of a vertically scrolling Breakout with levels. A fun 10 minute fix
