Well at least the old one for the Genesis/Arcade/etc... I recently got the new Golden Axe Beast Rider for the X360 on that Amazon deal for $10, and I think I still payed too much for it. The graphics are pretty good, albeit a bit choppy. The sound effects are about average for this type of game. The new version of Tyris Flare is pretty hawt and all, but the game is just seriously ho-hum boring..... I tried to like it, I really did. I was a big fan of the original game, and still play it from time to time, but I just can't get into this one at all.

So - anyway - who here has some love for Golden Axe (the original or the Genesis sequels)?

John also said it was disappointing, or something like that.  (er, different John)

I'm sure  sega knows if they put the Golden Axe name on a game, enough people in their mid 20's and later will have enough fond memories from the arcades to buy it.

I still play the originals now and again with a few friends, but I didn't have much hope for this one. Sega's franchise revivals are pretty hit-or-miss, honestly. I think Sonic Unleashed is a blast for what it is, but honestly the game was doomed to bad reviews the second the "Werehog" concept was announced. And honestly, the game could do without it, but it's still fun all the same.

I suppose I'm really digressing from the topic, but Sega revivals reminded me.
