As you can probably guess after clicking the link I go by sn0wX, and if you ever went on msn chat between the years 1995 and 2006 then yes i am that sn0wX, and most likely you still hate me :)

I say I'm a retired hacker because it sounds cool, but the curiousity and wonder of how things work never really goes away.  In my opinion that works really well towards a site like this one, where some of my items were bought simply for their homebrew capabilities(nuon, jaguar, psp).  I currently go to school for video game design, and will probably have at least a demo of my first xna game out by next may(I'm doing it for a class) and so far have 3 years of c++, 2 years of python, and one year of c# coding under my belt, to go along with 15 years of designing websites(5 with php).  My own personal site, gamelust.com, will be debuting sometime next summer as well.

Currently I believe it might be possible I could have the largest collection on this site(I ussually do), I own 52 different game consoles, and have amassed over 2200 full working retail games for them all.  The only blackspot on my collection that I feel as a collector would be the fact I do not own the Neo Geo or Neo Geo CD of any kind.  However I do kinda make up for it because I own a 64DD with every game but Doshin 2 and Golf.

Beyond the video games, I'm a pretty good comic artist, I listen to electronic music of almost any kind(never a sad beat) and hope to some day be able to race single seat open wheel cars professionally.

Also, I'll post pics of my collection sometime in the next few weeks in here and in a new topic.  Does not matter how large or small the collection is, we love games and I'm quite sure all of you have a ton of stuff I want.  At least in my case, it will never be enough.

Hey SnowX!

Would love to see some shots of your collection if you get a chance to do it.

I think my friend John Hancock (AKA swlovinist) might have you beat in the game collection department.  He beats a lot of people.  I'd have to ask him on him game # total but I do happen to know at least he has a complete US N64 set complete Ngage set complete Game.Com set complete US sega Genesis set (and I provided him w/ the last Genesis box he needed - Crusader of Centy!).  Most likely he has other complete sets too but those I know for sure.

I'm not sure on a number of games I have.  I'd say my collection isn't that big but I have at least 1000 games at least.  I never really organized to start writing or counting all I have.  I think it covers like 7 shelf units at least.  My set is not really showy enough for shots though.  Its mostly all in my basement on store shelves as I started to organize it so it looks like a warehouse.

I can appreciate all your ambition.

Drale on here does websites and coding too.  I do a little bit.  I am the webmaster and graphic designer for Specialty Gamer - and some others.  I respect someone who knows PHP.   B|>" border="0" class="smiley" />   If I knew more about PHP than I do I'm sure I could make the website better.

Hope you like it here and stay around.

Also, I'll post pics of my collection sometime in the next few weeks in here and in a new topic.

That gives the idea to make a new section for people to post about pics, details about their game rooms/collections.

Always good to see another fellow collector around.  This is John Hancock, and I am the collector that Brian is talking about.  I have officially 6,546 different games in my collection to date.  These are counting console only, official copy different video games in my collection. I collect most everything domestic that I can get my hands on.  I specialize in consoles ranging from Odyssey to the current systems. System wise  I am only missing the oober rare stuff that nearly nobody has, and I even have a ton of stuff that few have.   I have several complete US collections including N64(boxed), Sega Genesis(boxed), and a licensed NES set.     I am also have over 140 different consoles, with 80 of them boxed.  My collection was featured in Tips N Tricks Magazine years ago in Jan04 issue, and in a hobbyist magazine called Video Game Collector the same year.  Since then, I have moved to a house and have a converted garage to display my room of doom.  I have been collecting a long time and am actively part of the digitpress forums(swlovinist). Believe it or not, there are a few on that site that have me beat, but that is not why I collect.  I learned early on to never boast about having the biggest collection...there is always someone else out there that has you beat :).   I actually want to have a video game musuem someday in which people can see in action games of yesteryear.  Brian and some others on this site have seen my collection in person, but just to show you that my collection is legit, here are some pics

Anyways welcome here, and look forward to seeing your pics of your collection!

Never doubted, i've scoured the digitpress site before looking at some peoples insane collections and dreaming of being able to match them.

As for your museum thing I am on the same quest, I plan to dedicate rooms to specific console manufacturers like sega and nintendo and have playable kiosks for each with some decent chairs to sit and play in.  Of course it wouldnt be just setup for joe public, but I figured I'd do it with the assistence of people I meet in the industry after I have a few years working on video games, as well as the help of a college or two who are interested in the educational services that could be offered through it like some kind of interactive library of arts.

As far as boasting, im not coming out saying "hey look at all i have" but actually saying "i want more!!!" LOL  I always knew there were a lot of people with way bigger collections, as so far I've only been seriously collecting for about 4 years now, and have an extremely tight budget.  My budget is so small in fact im trying to buy as many manuals and boxes that i can off brian cause i cant afford real games atm. LOL

btw, if i lived anywhere near you, you'd be my new best friend LOL

When you have a chance to talk about your collection, you can do it now in the Game Room Collections section!  http://www.specialtygamer.com/talk/index.php/board,31.0.html

Welcome to  SpGa:mrgreen:

I’ve never used MSN chat so I haven’t seen you before.

What are single seat open wheel cars, are they those little ones with the fins on their roofs?

Your collection dwarfs mine I’ve only got about 275 games, but I’m more of a player than a collector.

Panoz DP-01 Indycar driven by Paul Tracy

That would be the type of vehicle I mean by single seat open wheel.  0-100-0 in about 8 seconds, top speed of 240+

i'll take one of each plz!

Cool I forgot about those, I was thinking of the stubby little ones that always roll over.
