One of my most played computer games lately has been Telltale Texas Hold Em.  The game is released by Telltale Games, more known for comical cartoon adventure games, such as the new Sam & Max series, Bone series, and Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People.  So the game has the same great polished comic graphic style and witty (spoken!) dialogue.

The game is popular among people that know about it, and I don't think its because they all love to play poker games.  Telltale Texas Hold Em is fun because of the well developed personality of all the characters.  Harry Weinhead, the savvy successful businessman who just learned poker thru a correspondence course by Artie Flopshark.  Boris Krinkle, the tempermental tough guy (that's really a momma's boy) with a secret past.  Ted Dudebrough, the sheltered trust fund airhead with the surfer dude accent.  And Grandma Shaky, the old senile lady from Kentucky with inherited money from all her dead husbands.  Each character has full spoken voices, and each of them fits the character's personality perfectly.

If you like the writing style of the other Telltale adventure games, or are a fan of the LucasArts/Sierra point and click adventures, you'll really enjoy this one too.  Its like the characters that would be in one of those other games were taken out and put in the format of a Texas Hold Em Poker game.

The game is cheap too - only $8.95 download from Telltale, or if you are lucky like me, you were able to pick up a boxed copy at Toys R Us on clearance for less than $5!!
