Has anyone here played it? The backgrounds and scenery are excellent. Everything about it is excellent, really. Especially the writing.

I have both Episode 1 and 2 on my 360 since October but I haven't played them yet. I went through a large Live Arcade/Disc Based game spending there around that time and I'm still playing catchup.

Neep.  Personally, the look and writing of Penny Arcade I consider to very contrived and overwhelming trying too hard to be funny than actually being funny.  The Penny Arcade is appealing to a younger alternative culture of high school/college age, which I'll admit that I don't share those interests, so its probably why I don't "get" it.

Also, I consider this to be more graphic adventure than strategy/war.  (so I moved it)  Knowing their background, even if it does have strategy elements, most likely its some kind of meta-spoof on the politics of gaming.  Ha ha ha.   :|

If you say the game is excellent however, I'll take your word on it and be nice.

It's a turn-based RPG with some really interesting elements. Surprisingly it doesn't mock any other games or things of that nature, though it does have a very "unique" storyline. The battles begin with the rolling of one of those dice that that have several numbers (what are those called?) and each character is assigned a number. Whoever's number gets landed on, gets their powers ready rather than having to wait the small, alotted time for your move to be ready.

The story is comical, but the actual gameplay is brilliant. If you ever get curious Brian, there's a demo you can get for PC. It really is good stuff.

Okay, I moved it back to Strategy then.  I'll take your word for it.  I'm sorry, I guess I just can't take anything done by Penny Arcade seriously.

Its good that you guys are here to talk about it, as that's something I wouldn't check out myself personally.

I should also note that this may turn into my favorite game from 2008, but the fact that I missed out on so many huge games makes that title not that hard to attain.
