Next weekend is the Pinball show in Seattle and I'm so excited to go!   :D

I'm going w/ John, Gerald, and maybe Chuck.  Toby and Jeanne are vendors so I'll see em at the show.

Going to be there much of the day Saturday, as thats when a lot of celebrity guest presentations are scheduled.  Walter Day (Twin Galaxies referee guy) is going to be there.  I've heard Steve Wiebe and Mark Alpiger might be there.  Steve is just from Redmond, and being just recently highlighted at the latest E3, his local folk hero status has probably reached mythical levels.

Twin Galaxies will be there to referee video game world records and I just noticed an update to the website saying that on Saturday at 8PM will be the inaugural Twin Galaxies Hall of Fame Ceremony.  So psyched for it!   :)

I'll be trying to play as many of the games as I can.  There's supposed to be 200+ machines there, but I'd really like to see if I can play each one if that's possible.  (and if I can stand for that long)  On the set list, I did see 2 of the ones I most want to play, Mousin' Around and Banzai Run for pinball, Berzerk for video arcade.  I didn't see Quartet listed, but c'mon... Quartet has to be there!!  I really want to see that one there and hopefully we can get some simultaneous 4-way action going!   B)

If you're local and going on Saturday too, you will probably see me there.  Stop me and say hi and I can give you a bumper sticker if I have any on me.  I always like meeting people in person.  I'll be bringing my camera to take lots of picks, and chat with people and write up the details here on  SpGa when I get home.

I heard Corey's making the carpool with us too.  And Chuck is doing the driving in the Tron van.   NWCGE road trip!  This show is going to be SWEET.   :D

The show was so much fun.  I took tons of picks, and John did too.  Many of the notables from King of Kong were at the show hanging out - Walter Day, of course who was a special guest of the show, but also Steve Wiebe, Mark Alpiger, Roy Schildt (Mr. Awesome) were all there too.  Bill Carlton (High Score) was hilarious.

The Video Game Hall of Fame ceremony was amazing and I felt special to see it in person.  The first recipient was one of the original programmers of the Microsoft Xbox.  I didn't realise it, but the NorthWest really IS a major area for gaming history with so many notable people and companies living in the area.

John and I are going to write up a review of the show with 2 viewpoints, so people that weren't there, hopefully the article will make you feel like you were and how cool it was.

I do have to say that this show was DEFINATELY the most I'd personally enjoyed myself at out of all the game expos and shows I've ever been to.  With all the arcade games and pinballs, and so many very uncommons I'd never seen before or knew existed, I had tons of fun just playing games, and remembering the stuff I used to play as a kid that I never see anymore.  It was like going to a custom car show, except instead of cars there were pinball machines and arcade games, and you actually get to PLAY many of the games.
