Hello Everyone,

we're now close to the 100 day mark before our show starts, you'll be seeing a lot more info about our show as each day passes.  info about vendors, contests and prizes, and exclusive show releases and much more! we all have been working hard to make this years show the best ever.

for those of you that are thinking about being a vendor at our show, I would not wait too long, we have limited space this year and spots are filling up fast!

don't forget to order your tickets in advance so you get into our show 1 hour early (9AM) you can order them here:  http://www.retrogamingexpo.com/admission.php

one of the newest additions to our show is Leeni, after seeing her on northwest cable news, I thought she would fit in perfect for our show. be sure to check out her website, love the way it's set up! I'm a huge space invaders fan.  :)

Chiptune Artist Leeni To Perform at PRGE

We are proud to welcome 8-Bit performer Leeni to the Expo! She is bringing her unique style of chiptune music down from Seattle for one show only so be sure to stick around for her 5:00 PM performance.

"Leeni's music takes you into another dimension, perhaps one with only two dimensions, depending where your video nostalgia begins and the real world ends. Leeni's 8-bit world is so believable that you'd swear you were listening to Princess Peach crooning into a 4-track and awaiting the valiant Mario and Luigi."
        Chris Brunelle, Impose Magazine

"Leeni is constantly pushing, morphing, recreating herself and her sound. This metamorphosis brought her to the discovery of 8-bit music, a largely untapped resource on the brink of commercial stardom. 8-bit music captures an off-beat, nostalgic sound that is easy to embrace. It's a new genre, an innovative cutting edge sound with a fresh, fun perspective."
Excerpt from Leeni's CD Baby description

Sounds good, I’m planning on going barring any unforeseen events.
I hope Brian gets a table because I have a lot of stuff I'm going to bring to trade, and it would be nice to drop it off somewhere.    :D

Yep, Specialty Gamer is going to have a table this year.  I thought I made that pretty clear in the A-List that goes to the Specialty Gamer authors.  If you still have those emails, check what I said for details on that.  If JP and Dant can make it out here and help work the table, I'm still willing to get them a place to sleep and free admission of course.

Maybe I should start getting tentative plans organized because I really don't want to be the only person there for  SpGa .

I would love to help! I'm actually heavily considering moving, and Portland might be the place for me. I'll let you know how that goes.

Wow, what commitment!   LOL   Since you're a staff member here, would be cool if helped work the show even if you don't move up.  In past years, there's been regulars that come up from northern California, so I'm guessing many of those guys will likely be up for the show this year too.

Just checked out the Leeni's website and it is cool.  Maybe some club kids will come in to have some fun.

Since Specialty Gamer will be officially in attendence for the first time at a  NWCGE game expo, I ordered a vinyl banner and it came out pretty cool.  Thought that would be something neat to put in front of the table.  REPRESENT!  How hardcore is that?  I should take a picture of it, but its late and my flash is broken.

Anyways... this year's  NWCGE in Portland is comming up pretty soon on Sept 20 and I hear there is some festivities put on by Chase the Chuckwagon the night before.  So if traveling in, I'd suggest you arrive Saturday afternoon at the latest if you want to check out everything.

So much I have to do to prepare...  It would probably be a good idea to write up the P-RGE preview article soon.  For the other  SpGa writers, I'll be writing you guys soon to make sure we're all organised for those of you out of town and want to come to the show.

For people that are on the  SpGa mailing list and/or visit the site, I'll be making a special offer to you guys that come to  NWCGE and visit the  SpGa table to thank you for your support.  I'll try to make sure that some very cool stuff is offered for sale at our table too.

Feeling buff now, are we??  I LIKE it!!   B)

I would wear one, but then we'd all look like we're in a gang (well, a nerdy gang).  No actually, I was probably going to wear what I usually wear - or who knows, maybe I'll even get all pimped out in a crazy tux and waer one of your dad's hats.  No, no pimping for me - that was a not so funny joke.

Purge was okay for SpGa .  We grossed somewhere over $1,700 which nearly met my expectations.  Next year will be even better.  It was pretty overwhelming being our first year as a vendor, especially since we just had a table yet had more games in total than some of the people that had a booth.  It took almost half the show until we got all the games actually displayed.

Thanks to everyone that came by to say hi at our table!  Hope ta see you again next year!   :)

So I'll be writing a review of the show with photos this week.  Which will be announced by email to everyone on the list.  Anyone with comments, please do feel free to post your impressions.
