OK guys, I just got screwed hard. My

360 just failed catastrophically. I'm 16 days outside the warranty. Cost is approximately $125 to get it fixed.
Here's what I discovered in my rantings with Microsoft. If you foam at the mouth long enough, even though they say there's nothing they can do about the cost. A supervisor can give you like a 25% discount, so it ends up being about $100 to get your 360 fixed. That includes shipping both ways. Unfortunately the overnight shippings are gone (even if it was still under warranty), so your looking 3-5 business days to get the box and 8-10 business days to get it back after they get it. So I'm estimating I'll be without for about a month.
Then over and over all the (bleep) reps I talked to plead with me to get the $30 a year warranty. Since this will be the second time I've shipped a 360 back to them (first was the launch one which I sent a couple of weeks after buying), it looks like the $30 a year is a good deal for the poopyty quality M$ product.
Maybe I just got unlucky? But my thoughts are this day in age a product of this "quality" should not fail so often, and def not just outside its warranty. My ancient gaming systems are working fine. Inluding my launch

. One should not be forced into paying extended warranties for modern eletronics.
I'm going to keep everyone updated but I plan on looking into class action lawsuits, I recommend if you have a 360 buy the extended warranty for a year for $30 before your warranty runs out (new unit or refurbed is 90 days).
