I just read an article about how Epic will not be releasing any games on the Wii and it had stated that many people who own a Wii have grown tired of the system and it is now sitting.  I owned a Wii for about 2 weeks, and I would definitely have to agree with that sentiment.  At first it was fun, but after about 2 hours or so, the novelty had wore off.  I had people over and at first we played the Wii, but we eventually switched back to the 360.  I have found it to be a definite novelty item, which is why I sold it.  Even the exclusive games weren't enough to have me keep it.

+1 for not having a Wii yet.  I haven't even played on one yet.  Not because of lack of interest, because of lack of money.

Excellent idea for a poll Btw.

I figured it was the perfect topic to include a poll. I'm still playing with different forum features, just to see how they work.

I hadn't thought of doing a poll, so you beat me to it!

Notice the read/unread "SG" topic icons on the index page?  I hope you noticed just because those were a serious bitch to figure out how to remove the default icons and put in my own.  Plus I had to make those icons myself.

I did notice those, but not at first.  I knew something was different but couldn't quite figure out what it was.  After I had read some of the posts it hit me what was different.

Yep, just watch out and you'll lots of little details creep in.  I tend to work on the small details.  I've gone over 50 posts so I'm no longer a newbie on my own board!   :D   Even moderators and admins have to go thru newbie status.

Yeah, it is quite interesting being a moderator and seeing the newbie status, or even seeing you listed as the newbie status.

I could just make myself a "veteran" if I wanted to, but I kind of like the idea that even the people who work here have to earn their status just like regular members.  Everyone here starts out as equals.

I will have to say, I'm very impressed with Mario Kart on the Wii though.  Good times.

To be honest, I was not.  I loved the fact that Mario KART used Carts not cars, motorcycles and other vehicles.  Overall the gameplay is fun and so are the new items, but I liked it being just carts.

I can definitely understand that.  It was different at first, but I got used to the idea. I guess they fealt they needed to spice it up, because for the most part the game hasn't changed that much since the SNES days. Sure they have different attributes to each game, but for the most part it is still the same game.

I've been using the PS3 more, but I still love the Wii. Brawl didn't really do it for me but I've been enjoying Mario Kart as well as Kirby's Adventure via Virtual Console.

On that note, did anyone download the new Nintendo Channel yesterday? You can watch trailers and footage of recent and upcoming games, as well as download DS demos directly to your DS (assuming you allow your Wii to submit info to Nintendo about your gameplay habits)

I mostly agree.  Let's just say I was very excited to get a Wii on Christmas.  I played it a bit for two weeks, but the novelty completely wore off and it collected lots of dust.  I continued playing PS3/360 much more.  However, when I got Mario Kart Wii, I started playing my Wii much more and love the game (possibly my favorite Mario Kart ever).  Right now my Wii is doing well because of Mario Kart Wii, but once I finish, it may struggle again (although I haven't bought Brawl yet, but I'm no Brawl fan).

I know some love VC, but IMO, the prices are a rip-off.

It was hard for me to justify getting any game from Virtual Console because I have most of the real consoles.  For the prices they wanted I would normally just try to find the actual game.
