Now that I've got a PSP, the #1 game I was looking to get is PoPoLoCrois. Lucky for me I noticed that PPLC seems to be one of the most common and cheapest PSP games to find used. Many places have it for $10.
I have the original

version of PoPoLoCrois which was released only in Japan, but haven't been able to get too far in it as its not in English.
The graphics and story are absolutely lovely. The music and sound effects are neat and lovely too. A nice feature is that battles can be set to auto - which is actually set as the default setting. Most non-boss battles are light and breezy, just as long as you don't wander into an area where you shouldn't be going until a later part of the game when the characters are more leveled up.
I really enjoy games that are friendly and charming such as this one. Isometric drawn pixel animated graphics - its a game after my own heart.

The pixel animations really are very lovely, this is a game that would fit right at home on the

DS. One of the few downsides of the game is that characters are set to run by default, to walk, you have to hold down a button - rahter than most games requiring you to hold down a button to run. That control makes it tricky sometimes in towns when you just want to move a square - ESPECIALLY when the button held down to walk is the SAME button used to perform actions like to talk and to open things, etc. It means that when the main character Pietro is too close to a person or object to search, he will perform that action rather than walking - which is what I want to do, so I have to move a bit, and then hold the walk button. Its enough to annoy me. A better option would have been if the player could choose to walk as default rather than to run.
I'm only about 6 to 8 hours in so far. Still in the first chapter of PPLC.
