Now, to be fair, I love both my

and my

360. I just have a very strong respect for the original. I'm not an extreme fanboy by any means. I will admit that Microsoft made some mistakes on the original, but they also brought some new ideas to the console environment. It wasn't the prettiest or sleekest machine case wise, but it was efficient. If yours actually died, it made a good door stop. Dual purpose, you have to appreciate that.
I had a few over the years, but not because they broke down, they just had different purposes. I had created one to be a Linux web server, another was turned into a media center, and a stock one for playing games. I had to replace the dvd drive on one, and the power supply on the other two. No big deal, took like 5-10 minutes and parts were easy to come by.
The machine was just very user friendly in a lot of ways. It started the

Live service, which wasn't what it is today, but really brought the idea of a gaming network with one ID for all games and ease of use. The built-in hard drive was a great idea so there was no real need for the memory cards, unless you were wanting to move a gamesave to a friends machine.
The games, where as Microsoft didn't get the same love as the

, still had some really good games. It had the Halo series, Stubbs the Zombie, MechAssault and other games that were some serious system sellers. I know there is a lot of hate, because it is a Microsoft product, and I understand, but they did a lot of good for the console market and brought some real good ideas.
