This game just brings back good memories. Old school beat em up on the NES and you could beat people with chains or other objects.  It is one that I'm still attempting to find for a decent price for my collection.

If you didn't know - River City Ransom was ported as an enhanced version to the GBA as River City Ransom Ex.  Also the original version is on the Wii Virtual Console - both ways to get the game easier and cheaper than the original.  My friend CaptInsano16 has the GBA version and said he liked it.

Yeah, I had a Wii for like 2 weeks and got rid of it. Didn't appeal to me at all.  I've got the game as a ROM on my original Xbox, but it's not the same without the controller. I've been debating doing the Xbox controller mod to fit into an NES controller casing, but haven't decided if it's worth the trouble or not.

Why would you want to use the NES controller by choice? At least for me it’s too small and the corners hurt my hands.

I have the problem with the corners hurting after a long period of time, but it's mainly the nostalgia factor.  As soon as I pick up that controller and start playing Mario or others, I feel like I'm 7 years old again.

I think the standard Nintendo brand NES controller is uncomfortable and hurts my hands too.  I like some of the 3rd party brands like Beeshu, that have the same shape as the Nintendo brand NES controller, but the corners and edges are at least rounded so its more comfortable.

How’s the button quality on the Beeshu?
I have an aftermarket NES controller I don’t remember what brand and it’s a much nicer shape (sort of like a genesis controller) than the official controller but the buttons aren’t nearly as precise.

I haven't played on my NES in a while, but I don't recall having problems with the buttons on the Beeshu I have.  Its got the rectangle shape of the Nintendo brand NES controller, but my Beeshu has turbo sliders (useful!) and its a neat hot blue color.  The D-pad is hot green!  See a pic of what I have, its the Beeshu Zipper (the plate on mine is missing though) http://www.vidgame.net/NINTENDO/peripheral.htm  Beeshu is one of the higher quality aftermarket accessory brands from the 80's, along with ASCII and Hori.
